Quickscript is Axiotron’s new handwriting recognition application for Mac® users that offers accurate recognition of cursive handwriting, hand-printed characters and isolated characters in 26 different languages.

Using Quickscript you can enter text in Pages®, TextEdit, Microsoft® Word and Excel® — almost any application that accepts text input! Dash off a message in iChat®, take notes in class or write your tweets with ease.

With its convenient pop-up text-entry pane, Quickscript gives you the freedom to enter and send text to almost any active application. Draft a letter in Pages. Jot down a topic in Wikipedia and look it up. Add data to a spreadsheet. All from a single text-entry pane!

Second Public Beta Available for Free Download!

Quickscript (second public beta*) is now available for free download to Mac users with systems running Mac OS X version 10.5.x (Leopard®) OR 10.6.x (Snow Leopard®), including users of the Modbook. Mac users who have pen tablet devices (such as those made by Wacom®) with the latest drivers can also use Quickscript!

Highly Accurate

Quickscript employs a state-of-the-art handwriting recognition engine developed by Vision Objects®. Tested on millions of handwriting samples from around the world, Quickscript accounts for subtle variations in alphabet, vocabulary and country-specific handwriting styles.

Quickscript does not merely convert handwriting to digital text: it understands handwriting. Powerful language models help Quickscript recognize words, word components and phrases, a contextual approach that increases text recognition accuracy.

Easy to Use

There's no need to change your writing style or learn special printing techniques. Just use your natural handwriting and let Quickscript do the rest. The text-entry pane can be configured with your preferences and used whenever and wherever you want, so you don't have to adjust to different user interfaces for each application.

Gesture Recognition

Simple gesture recognition in the text-entry pane lets you perform actions such as adding and deleting characters or entering line breaks.

Multiple Text-Entry Modes

Enter text on the writing pad just like on a piece of paper, in either hand-printed characters or cursive handwriting. Or use character-by-character mode to write single letters, numbers or symbols. A convenient software keyboard also lets you type in characters.

Create Your Own Dictionary

Personalize Quickscript by adding to your own dictionary! Your Quickscript dictionary will recognize the words and phrases you use most commonly, limiting mistakes and improving text recognition.

Kopernikus

Quickscript comes pre-installed with Kopernikus™, Axiotron’s exclusive digital assistant feature that offers system control via recognition of written text. To use Kopernikus, you create or download AppleScript® script files to control actions on your computer. A word or code to run the script is saved to the Quickscript dictionary, and writing this word or code in the Quickscript text-entry pane runs the script!

For example, you can create a simple script that opens iTunes®, then save the phrase "iTunes" to the Quickscript dictionary. Writing “iTunes” in the Quickscript text-entry pane opens iTunes.

Kopernikus offers another way of controlling your system. If you're taking notes in class, for example, you can quickly launch a browser or app without losing your train of thought or leaving the Quickscript window!
