The Modbook Pro* features a multibody abstraction design made from precision machined aluminum. There are no exterior sheet metal or plastic parts, providing unprecedented structural strength.

To build Axiotron’s Modbook Pro, the components of the Apple MacBook Pro base system are attached so as not to interfere with the normal functioning of its hardware and software, including the Mac OS® X Snow Leopard® operating system.

The Modbook Pro includes Ethernet, FireWire® 800, USB 2.0 (x2), Mini DisplayPort, digital audio, SD card slot and Bluetooth — plus a three-button keybar for on/off, Mod Key and battery indicator. On the top of the Modbook Pro is the optical drive bay and pen garage with magnetic pen catch.

The Modbook Pro employs revolutionary new SynergyTouch™ technology developed by Axiotron. SynergyTouch adds touch in support of pen-based input. Unlike any other touchscreen computer, the Modbook Pro’s Synergy technology enables pen and touch input simultaneously.

On the Modbook Pro’s flush-bezel mounted ForceGlass™ screen, you can draw or write using the digitizer pen and type text or keyboard shortcut commands — at the exact same time! Use your finger to zoom in and out with the on-screen software slider pad. Or pan and scan active content by moving your finger on the virtual touchpad.

The SynergyTouch user interface appears on the screen as translucent overlays of buttons, pads and alphanumeric keys, providing literally unlimited options for system control and data input while using the digitizer pen.
