Customers Get an Additional Programmable Digitizer Pen (a $50 Value) with Every Modbook Purchase
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — High-tech manufacturer Axiotron® today announced a new promotion for the company’s award-winning Modbook® solution, the one and only Mac® tablet computer. Under the promotion, every Modbook ships with an additional (second) digitizer pen set (a $50 value) that includes a programmable digitizer pen and replacement felt, pencil and studio pen tips. This promotion is valid while supplies last.
Embraced by creative professionals as an all-in-one portable production studio, the Modbook integrates Axiotron’s tablet hardware and software technology, a Wacom® Penabled® digitizer and an Apple® MacBook® base system. Unlike Apple’s iPad™ mobile digital device, the Modbook is a full-fledged tablet computer running the Mac OS® X operating system. It is not a one-app-at-a-time media pad. Instead, the Modbook is a pen-enabled tablet computer system with 512 levels of pen pressure sensitivity on which creative applications like Adobe® Photoshop® or Toon Boom® Storyboard Pro® can be used to produce high-resolution, professional-quality creative deliverables.
With its fast processing speeds (2.13Ghz for Modbooks with new base systems), superior graphics (including an NVIDIA® GeForce® 9400M integrated graphics processor on many models), large 13.3-inch AnyView™ LCD display and durable ForceGlass™ screen, the Modbook is the most powerful and affordable slate-style tablet computer system on the market. A comprehensive side-by-side analysis of the leading tablet PCs is available at www.axiotron.com/compare.
Both the Mac OS X Leopard® and Snow Leopard® operating systems are supported on the Modbook.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for complete Modbooks built with a customer-supplied Apple MacBook base system is $899 and the MSRP for complete Modbooks that include a new dealer-supplied 2.13GHz base system is $1,849.
Individual Axiotron dealers offer complete Modbook systems based on pre-owned and refurbished base systems at price points below the $1,849 MSRP. Customers should check with individual dealers for details on these value-priced offers. (Modbook availability and specific system configurations may vary depending on dealer.) A complete list of Axiotron dealers in ten countries in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia is available at www.axiotron.com/buy.
Many dealers also offer Modbooks based on MacBooks that are supplied by customers. At an MSRP of $899, this offer represents the most attractive price point available for students and other customers who would like to convert their MacBook into a tablet. Most non-unibody MacBook models are eligible for conversion. A complete list of compatible MacBook models is available at www.axiotron.com/modbook.
Customers who purchase the Modbook get a ninety-day Modcare™ warranty on the entire system (including the MacBook base system, whose warranty is voided during the Modbook conversion). Extended warranty options are available through participating Axiotron dealers. Modbook servicing and repair are available through Axiotron’s service provider network.
“Apple’s introduction of the iPad has also brought renewed attention to the Modbook,” said Axiotron CEO Andreas E. Haas. “The iPad, like the iPhone® and iPod touch® which share its operating system, offers a unique way of consuming media content. However, Modbook users require more: the full Mac OS X experience with multi-tasking applications and the Finder™, desktop-like processing and graphics power, handwriting recognition, and the detail and control that only a pressure-sensitive pen-input system can provide. That’s because Modbook users don’t just consume media content — they create it! Only the Modbook offers creative professionals and general users a complete, Mac OS X-based tablet computer solution.”
