New Modbooks Now Available with 2.13GHz of Processing Speed – Modbook with Synergy Touch and Modbook Pro to Ship in Late 2009
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA – High-tech manufacturer Axiotron® today announced that customers can now purchase a Modbook® based on the recently upgraded Apple® MacBook® base system with a 2.13GHz processor, improved memory and additional storage capacity. With the boost in processing speed the Modbook maintains its lead as the fastest and most powerful slate tablet computer on the market today.
The Modbook employs a distinctive half-body design that seamlessly integrates an Axiotron-constructed top section -- featuring Axiotron’s hardware and software tablet technologies and an integrated Wacom® pen tablet digitizer -- with the bottom section of an Apple MacBook computer. The result: the one and only tablet Mac® solution and an ideal tablet computer for creative professionals, students and general users. The Modbook‘s tough ForceGlass™ screen offers 512 levels of pen pressure sensitivity -- twice the capability of any tablet PC. Beginning immediately, customers can order a Modbook with the updated specifications that include a 2.13GHz Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor, 2GB of 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM (up to 6GB available), an NVIDIA® GeForce® 9400M integrated graphics processor and a 160GB 5400-rpm hard disk drive (up to 820GB available).
In addition to updating the Modbook’s base system specs, Axiotron today announced that the Synergy™ Touch upgrade for Modbooks is scheduled to ship in late 2009 and the Modbook Pro at the end of 2009. During the Macworld Expo 2009, Axiotron unveiled Synergy Touch’s cutting-edge pen-with-touch capabilities and showcased the Modbook Pro tablet computer’s pioneering multi-body abstraction design that encapsulates an Apple MacBook Pro base system within its sleek, multi-part enclosure.
"Right now, the Modbook is available in North America and Australia, we’re rolling it out in Europe, and we’re preparing to launch it in Asia. Its best-in-class graphics and continuously improving base system performance make the Modbook a compelling, all-in-one graphics tablet solution, both on the desktop and on the go," said Andreas E. Haas, CEO of Axiotron. "In the current market our customers are looking for a capable solution and a smart buy -- the Modbook delivers both, well ahead of its competition. Axiotron will continue to update the Modbook's specs and add features as we complete development of Synergy Touch and the Modbook Pro."
The Modbook is available through Axiotron Authorized Resellers. Customers can get more information about Axiotron and its products at http://www.axiotron.com.
